Ladies Cut – Developed for Aikidoka

The Bu Jin® women's hakama is made in the so-called ladies cut and is specially adapted to the requirements of women in aikido.

The cut takes into account the typical way of wearing the hakama as well as the proportions of the female body, ensuring a particularly harmonious fit.

Made to measure

All Bu Jin® hakama are made individually according to your specifications.

To ensure that your hakama fits perfectly, we need some of your body measurements. The diagram above will help you determine the correct measurements.

A – Waist circumference
The waist circumference corresponds to the waist and is measured above the hip bones.

B – Hip circumference
Here, the measuring tape is placed slightly lower – below the hip bone.

C – Hakama length
Measure the length from your navel to below your ankles.
Alternatively, the tape measure can be placed above the hip bone and also extended to below the ankles.

Front panel options

Depending on how the obi is worn, there are two options for the front of the hakama.

Regular front panel

Many aikidoka wear their obi slightly tilted downwards. In this case, the regular front panel is the right choice. The front panel can be easily tucked into the obi without lifting the hem of the hakama too much.

Extended front panel

Many women and slim-built aikidoka, on the other hand, wear the obi almost horizontally. In this case, the extended front panel is recommended, as it provides additional fabric length. This allows the front section to be tucked into the obi without lifting the hakama hem.
